This is a pastel drawing of redbud trees by Lake Marmo at the Morton Arboretum Illinois. The redbud is a native tree of America. I have used a contemporary impressionistic style, because I felt it suited the light and air of the spring day, and the fresh, vibrant colours of pinks, blues and greens.
